· News Releases,Disaster Services,FEMA,LSC

(FORT MYERS, Fla.) – If you or someone you know is still recovering from Hurricanes Milton or Helene, we have good news to share with you: the FEMA application deadline for Florida
survivors has been extended to January 7, 2025.

The new deadline extension will provide those affected by Hurricane Helene with more time to gather important documents and apply for aid.

Here’s Everything You Need to Know:

Why This Matters

This deadline extension provides additional time for survivors who are still struggling through
the aftermath of Hurricane Helene to apply for critical aid. Disaster recovery is a long road especially for those who had property damage or lost their homes entirely. FEMA can provide vital resources such as temporary housing, rental assistance, and help with other expenses like childcare.
