(RIVIERA BEACH, Fla.) — Florida Rural Legal Services (FRLS) hosted an outreach event at its Riviera Beach/West Palm Beach office on Tuesday, May 21, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., in recognition of Haitian Heritage Month. The event celebrated Haitian culture and aimed to strengthen ties with the local Haitian community.
FRLS invited community partners who serve the Haitian community to participate. Among the notable attendees was Melva Rozier from the Sheree Davis Cunningham Black Women Lawyers' Association, who supported the cause. Staff members from the Early Learning Coalition were also present.
The event saw the participation of former clients, current community partners, and dedicated FRLS staff, including advocates available to answer questions from the audience. This interactive setup allowed for meaningful exchanges, fostering a deeper understanding of the community's needs and how FRLS can assist.
During the event, FRLS conducted a short presentation detailing its mission and services. The presentation aimed to inform attendees about the organization's commitment to providing legal aid to those in need and to build stronger relationships within the Haitian community.
The outreach event served not only as a celebration of Haitian Heritage Month but also as an opportunity to build connections and reinforce FRLS's dedication to serving the Haitian community.
The presence of community partners and former clients emphasized the collaborative spirit of the event, highlighting the importance of working together to support and uplift each other.
FRLS looks forward to continuing its outreach efforts and fostering strong community ties. Events like this underscore the significance of cultural recognition and community support.
