(WAUCHULA, Fla.) – On April 5th Florida Rural Legal Services (FRLS) joined various healthcare providers and community organizations such as Aetna, Better Together, Sunshine Health, Healthy Start Coalition, and Wauchula Police Department to sponsor the second annual Hardee County Community Baby Shower.

Held at Florida’s First Assembly of God in Wauchula, the room was filled with new parents, expecting parents, and family members alike. As families arrived, they were greeted with smiling faces, welcomed with snacks and refreshments, and a shared sense of positivity and support for their journey ahead.

One of the highlights of the event was the baby gift giveaway, where attendees were able to play fun games to win baby essentials like diapers, strollers, pack-and-plays, and much more. In addition to the giveaway, attendees were given information on the vendors’ free services to expecting mothers, including a particularly important session focused on pre-eclampsia, a potentially dangerous pregnancy complication where the mother experiences high blood pressure.
