(LAKELAND, Fla.)- In a remarkable display of recognition and community dedication, the Lakeland Bar Association (LBA) hosted its annual Pro Bono Awards on Friday, November 10. The event brought together legal luminaries, including the outstanding team from Florida Rural Legal Services (FRLS), to honor those who exemplify the spirit of pro bono service.
The event was attended by Amy McCaffrey and Britt Berg, who represented the FRLS Pro Bono team. Their commitment to advancing access to justice and providing legal aid to those in need have been pivotal in the success of FRLS's pro bono initiatives.
FRLS took center stage at the LBA Pro Bono Awards, recognizing the exceptional contributions of Josh Brown and Steve Senn. The Pro Bono Firm Award was re-presented to Peterson & Myers, P.A. at this distinguished gathering. This acknowledgment underscores the unwavering dedication of these legal professionals to pro bono service and community welfare.
FRLS also showcased the top 11 Pro Bono Attorneys who have consistently provided invaluable assistance to FRLS pro bono initiatives. Their dedication have made a significant impact, contributing to the success of FRLS's mission of providing low-income people equal access to justice.
In addition to the awards, FRLS appealed to new private attorneys who may want to take on pro bono case/s, providing them with insights into FRLS's work and encouraging their participation in pro bono efforts.
