Immokalee Disaster Relief Event
Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022 from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Location: The Amigos Center 106 South 2nd Street, Immokalee, FL 34142
More help in Immokalee.
Join Florida Rural Legal Services, Inc. (FRLS) and community partners in mobilizing relief efforts for Hurricane Ian survivors in Immokalee who are struggling.
The aftermath of Hurricane Ian is widespread and is expected to impact communities and regions substantially for months - even years to come.
That’s where FRLS comes in. We are hosting a disaster outreach program for Immokalee residents affected by the hurricane.
What was offered.
The Immokalee Disaster Relief event will bring various social services, governmental agencies, and community non-profit organizations directly to the farm-working community. These resources are crucial because it appears that the only Disaster Recovery Center location in Collier County, at this time, is at the Veterans Community Park in Naples, Fla., which is too far for many of the farmworkers in Collier County.
"Much of the rebuilding in Florida after Hurricane Ian will be done by migrant workers, but many of them right now feel overlooked by relief efforts," reports WUSF.
